How We Started The Pony Cafe Pugs
It all began eighteen years ago when I started raising Shih Tzus here in Virginia. Brought up in the New York countryside, I grew up raising Golden Retrievers, and working with ponies. Its been twenty-four years since I moved from the cold of New York for the slightly warmer Virginia climate. I was lucky enough to be in the same town as a wonderful woman that brought the first pair of Shih Tzus in from the UK. I was blessed with the greatest little dogs and bought my first breeding bitch. Since I am more into working with the dogs than showing them, I worked with other breeders that were either all breed judges, or showed themselves. I bred only to champion stock.
We became enamored with the Pug breed, and I began a two year search for Will I Am and Fergie. Here we are now in our eighth year of "Pugging Around" to include our addition of Brisco, Adele, Iggy (RIP sweet Iggy; taken from us by nefarious evil , a GoFundMe page was set up for investigation and security costs, into her untimely death; scroll down on our Facebook page (the pony cafe) ) and now Scarlett, Iggy's daughter along with full sister Lula. We are devastated at our loss, Iggy shown above with Laurie. She had so much heart and a soul that lifted up the most down trodden . "It is our hope to develop our newest venture in Iggy's name to help "
